Default Christmas came early!

been up on the boat working on things for a week and stopped in to visit the inlaws and was given a PowerSurvivor 40E watermaker!

they had it on there boat and forgot it was up in the attic collecting dust.
merry Christmas to us!

we wanted one but thought it would be a few years before we could afford one...

The most important part of the watermaker is the membrane. Unless you are quite sure the membrane has never been used, I would suggest replacing it and buy an inexpensive TDS meter to keep you healthy.

Nice surprise! I agree that some maintenance would be in order but that beats the heck out of having to purchase new

Unfortunately Debs dad passed away a few years ago so he isn't around to ask how or if he pickled it... I'll take a bash at cleaning it before I drop $400 on a new membrane...

... and will definitely install an inline tds meter...

That addition to our cruising kit just about got us wrapped up... bought my Monitor windvane last Saturday.... all we need now is for our solar panels to arrive.... and to get everything installed lol... hopefully we can be offshore by late October if there are no big surprises...

Wish I had such a great gift. How'd it go into the boat?
