Pritti hot there eh? Brizzie.
Hot? Naah, mildly warm is all.

Back to the original topic: I have been pondering wifi amplifiers and such and decided to speak to the local telecommunications mob, BTC, here in the Bahamas after having a yak to a couple of Aussie cruisers here in Marsh Harbour today. The result is I am using a prepaid sim card on my unlocked phone. The cost of data when using my phone as a mobile hot-spot is about $22 per Gb.

As long as I am using text only, a gigabyte goes a long way. No modems, no nuthin...just a phone, a few bucks and I am up and running.

I had previously spoken with OII (Local internet company) who offered to whack up an all-singing, all-dancing, marine ready, omni-directional wifi picker-upper for $550. That buys a lot of data through BTC.

Now....Heading back to the US on Thursday for the Miami Boat Show. Disneyland for sailors. Yay!!

Just found a global wi-fi and mobile phone provider especially set up for yachties. Prepaid, no contracts, 12 month expiry.
