Hey all,
Just posted a few pics of the final stages of the refit of the S/V Boomerang! After a long 4 months on the hard (interrupted several times by blizzards!), she has a a new bottom, all new topsides varnish (stripped and redone - still have the companionway hatch to complete), the interior scoured and oiled, the two chainplates that were leaking were repaired, the genset refurbished....and the list goes on! Still have yet to finish the new running rigging, the new babystay, bend on the new sails, along with the new dodger and bimini canvas, but that will be done a couple of days before launch which is coming up in a week. Take a look and feel free to comment!
We are very excited about the whole damned thing! Lots of work and worth it all...every minute, as for us, it is a labor of love. We will spend the next year getting to know our new Chesapeake Bay digs, and perhaps begin soon planning another voyage for next year. Been a while, actually...several years since we've taken off...but considering our current political environment, not sure we want to stick around here over the next few years. Won't be the first time we've become ex-pats....
Hope everyone is well, and safe.
Best,
C
