Default The boat is smarter than us

I swear it. We use hand pumps for freshwater but because we have a washer/dryer aboard, it must have it's own pressure water pump. Resident pump behind the washer. It was leaking through a torn membrane into the switch and had corroded the switch. Replaced the switch and membrane. Reinstalled the pump. I am running a load of laundry to assure its all working fine. During the wash load, the pump keeps coming on. Hummm. Looking everywhere for the leak. Nada. Then just noticed that a 5 gallon bucket sitting nearby that we'd used to drain the system still had the hose in it--and the hose wasn't turned all the way off. The bucket was just-almost-yep-overflowing at that moment. Daaaa.... The boat is smarter than us. yep.

Seems the pump doesn't leak.

Had the same thing happen with the anchor washdown hose one day but didn't figure out the leak until after tracing the whole plumbing system through the boat. Slow learner I guess.
