Hi,

I am thinking of changing my Volvo Penta MD 11 for MD 17!

On the net I was trying to find dimensions and weight data on both those engines, but without sucess.

Will apprecite very much help in finding data as well as any other advice/comments/sugestions.

Thanks a lot.

Ivan M.

Your best bet is to contact Volvo asking them to supply you with installations dimensions for both engines. Here is link to their contact form HERE

I have the full workshop manual in pdf - but no dimensions.

Have you considered another engine?

Thanks Richard! I did contact Volvo and got very prompt reply! I did not think of another engine since I thought it would be simpliest with very similar type of engine. I also found one MD 17 with low hours and rather (I think) convenient price - ca 1500 EUR. What you think about price?

Hi there,

Where is the boat located?

What year is the engine?

How many hours on the clock?

At that price, unless it is in new condition, near to where you are and, without major mods to the transmission etc - ?????

The whole problem is that Volvo engines are not cheap to repair.
