NO,no, the picture is wrong, i have a csy 44 , and the engine bed have 2 stringers , one in the port side and the other one in starboard, the stringers in the csy hare very well made , consist of a long piece of douglas wood incapsulated in heavy fiberglass, the perkins rest in this 2 stringers by engine mounts screwed directly in the glass , not good idea in a 360 roll, i take out the engine for a overhaul and made a steel plate for each side , the plate is L CONFIGURATION , we cut about 2 centimeters off the top for the stringer and reglassed , now the plate rest in the stringer in a L FORM , we drill about 6 holes along the stringer and fit the steel plate with heavy bolts and nuts and a backing plate , the engine mounts now rest in the steel plate with a screw pass in the plate and underneath with a bolt , and the nut under the plate, remenber we cut the top of the stringer , so we have about 1, 5 cm off diference betwen the plate and the stringer , now the engine run smoother , and is safely in place , and thanks to the heavy construction of the CSY 44 , no strees points. i hope is clear for you, i try to the prepare a picture soon.
