Genoa Sheet Cars

On my Stag 28 the genoa sheet cars slide on the toe rail and are difficult to move, does anyone have a similar problem and how have they solved it. The toe rail is round in section and the cars lock in position with a spring loaded pin.

Most sheet cars are difficult to move if there is any significant load on the sheet - are yours hard to move even when no load?

Hi Ed. Not hard to move when unloaded but do slide well on the alunimium rail I think the fibre bearings inside cars themselves may be the main cause of the problem but I have not found or seen a similar car. I suppoose without a complete redisign of the system I will continue searching for the fibre bearings the of course there is the problem of getting the cars off the rail.

Hi all here are two pictures of the genoa sheet car on the toe rail, can't find any make or model, perhaps someone will reconise it.

Tried 3 times could not upload perhaps its too big.

Probably too large.

Resize them down to about 500/600px. and then add them to your post as "attachments".

The easiest way to show pictures here on CL is to use a picture hosting service (free) like flickr or picassa. I have a flickr.com account myself. Started with a free account but then went to a paying one with unlimited bandwidth so I could archive all our pictures there. You can link to your pics that you've uploaded over there--and you can show any size you wish.

For example,

here's a thumnail pic of my cat sleeping under a berth...



and here's a link to a very big pic of the same. You can put a small pic here in your post but allow us to see detail with the link of the bigger pic on flickr or another photo hosting site.

If you use these other picture hosting sites, it allows more flexibility in showing a variety of images and also doesn't take up bandwidth here on the CL. Win-win.
