A few berths down from us in Sutera Marina Harbour, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (Borneo) Malaysia sits an immaculate Lagoon 42 Owners cabin version called Orono. Built in late 2007, she's Australian registered with all Australian duties paid and has just had her twin 75hp Yamah sail-drives serviced with the starboard being completely overhauled. Orono's almost completed her first circumnavigation after being sailed from the Lagoon Factory in France, cruised the Mediterranean, crossed the Atlantic to the Caribbean, and wandered the South Pacific to Australia where she underwent a major refit and equipment update in 2012 with new electronics, wifi auto-helm and monitoring systems. A while back, the owner and his wife decided they wanted to live permanently up in Malaysia and with two teenagers plus umpteen dozen, constantly visiting relatives and friends dropping in, found themselves purchasing a Privilege catamaran. I think the original idea was to keep the Lagoon in Brisbane for when they were back in Oz and sail the Privilege up here in the South China Sea.
Unfortunately, the logistics and costs or running two vessels finally defeated them and Orono was sailed up here to Sutera Harbour where she received another full service in January and has reluctantly been placed on the market.
Peter, the owner discovered I had been producing sale websites for other yachts up this way and back in Oz, with a lot of success - the last vessel, a 52' Steel Bilge keeler sold within 3 weeks of activating their website, our 33' cutter Mico sold within a fortnight and I'm just finishing off a couple of other websites for owners who, having had their vessels on the market for a significant length of time with no response, suddenly realise that the best person to tell their vessel's unique story was the owner - rather than a broker.
So here she is - an immaculately presented, brilliantly outfitted and amazingly priced Lagoon 42.
Price: $440,00 AU ono and I believe that Peter is even prepared to refund the new owner's airfares upon purchase.

…So if you're looking to sell your vessel and need some assistance in telling her story, drop me a line. It takes roughly 2 - 3 weeks to write, design and launch the site and once sold, I simply close down the URL. Short, effective and for a fraction of any brokerage fee - extremely sweet. After all, we all know deep down, that purchasing a vessel is an affair of the heart - a chance to realise a dream and as such, each vessel deserves to have her story and her adventures told.
