Cool

We are a couple (both 40) who plan on spending the next couple of years Cruising in the Caribbean before departing through the Panama Canal for the Pacific and longer term to complete a circumnavigation.

We are looking for crew to join us for cruising in the Caribbean on a medium to long term basis. My partner (Sarah) has a back condition that she occasionally needs to see a Chiropractor or Massage therapist for treatment. Our crew requirement is very specific since we are looking for someone with training as either a Chiropractor, Massage Therapist or both who would be willing to provide Sarah with the occasional treatment as needed when we are cruising. You won't need any prior sailing experience since we are both RYA Yachtmasters and can provide any training needed.

In return, you will have the adventure of a lifetime. We are both relaxed and easy to get on with. Apart from the obvious sailing, we both like to snorkel, hike, explore the islands etc. We think that this is the ideal opportunity for someone recently qualified who wants an adventure before embarking on a career, or someone already practising who just wants to take a sabbatical or find another, better way of life.

The crew position is not paid but no contribution towards food, boat costs, marina fees, maintenance etc is expected. Your only costs will be your own personal expenses.

If you think you might be interested and you have the right skills then please check out our blogsite at richardandsarahatsea.blogspot.com . You can find out a lot more about us and what we have been doing for the last few months.

The boat is a very very comfortable Tayana 55. She has 3 spacious cabins and you would have your own cabin and private shower/toilet. We all muck in and share the chores on the boat whether it is cooking, cleaning or general boat maintenance. This is not a "Captain Bligh experience" and we are pretty relaxed about most things.

If you are interested then please contact us by email at rneiland@hotmail.co.uk

Boat size & type: Tayana 55 Cutter

Embark port: Chaguaramas (Trinidad), Grenada or by arrangement elsewhere

Estimated departure (or join) date: ASAP

Arrival port & ETA (or voyage details): General cruising in the Caribbean. Trinidad, Tobago, Grenada, St Lucia, St Vincent, Antigua, etc, etc

Number of other crew aboard (Skipperplus): Skipper and 1st Mate

Crew qualifications required and duties: No sailing qualifications needed but otherwise as described above.

Cost to join vessel and repatriation is paid by: Travel costs paid by crew but would consider some contribution for the right person and assuming they stayed on board long enough to make it equitable.

Estimated equal-share contribution to food/drinks: (Per person, per day) = $US. No contribution for food required but we would ask the crew to pay an equal contribution towards beer, wine, etc.

Note: No contribution towards any other costs (fuel, propane, fees, marinas, etc.) is required from crew.

Hi, guys. I just found this forum today and liked your ad. I'm a doctor and a sailor from Chicago doing my general surgery residency, but I'm a D.O., we're cross-trained in manipulation. I own a San Juan 21 and race it occasionally and found your ad intriguing and wondered if you could use a hand every once in a while. I could use the break every now and then.

Aloha Sarah and Richard

My name is Lyn I live on the Sunshine Coast, North of Brisbane, in Queensland, Australia, even though this is a distance from you, your advert very much interests me. I am 39 years of age and I am qualified as a Remedial Massage Therapist and have been for over 13 years, I have always worked in the Health Science Fields.

I look forward to hearing back from you and would be interested in discussing this opportunity with you both further.

Regards

Lyn

HI ALL

Many thanks to all those folks who contacted us regarding this opportunity. We have now found some crew to join us so the opportunity is closed. If anything changes in the future then you'll hear from us again!
