Default Hola From S/v Totem!

Hi folks! My name is Behan. My husband and I sailed our Stevens 47, Totem, south from Puget Sound in 2008, and have been enjoying the cruising life in Mexico with our three children. Our kids are 5, 7, and 10 and have loved living aboard and cruising.

We're researching and prepping to be ready for the big Pacific crossing this spring- we anticipate heading out from La Cruz de Huanacaxle, Mexico, for Hiva Oa sometime in early April. I've already found some great info on the board to help with many of the questions on my mind (like that awesome reference to Australian custom & entry procedures).

Looking forward to reading and hopefully contributing too!

Behan

A hearty "welcome aboard" to you both Behan - great to have you here amongst our international, friendly cruising community.

We hope to hear lots from you as you prepare and take off across the Pacific.

Make yourself at home - you're in luck as "JeanneP' is laying on the drinks for the whole weekend.

*hic* Welcome. We would love to hear about your children and how they are enjoying home schooling and cruising. A frequent question from cruising parents is what curriculum other cruising families are using.

Our experience meeting cruising kids is how self-sufficient and alert they are. I'm curious whether they were that way before they started cruising, or does the cruising experience create the confidence and security that I've seen in them. How would you rate your kds' experiences?

Sparkling cider for the kids, served in grown-up flutes. My strategy for providing a non-alcoholic option to my teenage nephews and niece.

Welcome Behan and family. We would love to hear details of your cruise.

I remember very fondly and with great nostalgia the day when my wife and I cruised with our two girls.

Happy New Year

Vasilis
