Motoryatch being repositioned from Los Angeles California to Vancouver British Columbia.

Looking for 2 crew (male or female). Experience level not important, but being comfortable on boats and roughing it a must.

The trip is 1500 miles up the California, Oregon, Washington, & British Columbia coasts. An incredible trip with lots of whales, porposes, orca's, and the occasion shark sittings. This is one of the most incredeble coastlines in the world.

The trip will take approx. 8-15 days depending on ittinerary, weather, layovers etc. Crew will help deside on the ittinerary. (ex. You want to stop in San Francisco for a day or two, then we will).

Looking to depart Los Angeles by April 25th, 2009.

The boat

Wanderer is a 45 foot Sportfisher. She is undergoing a complete $150,000 refit this year. She is presently getting new engines & transmissions in Los Angeles. She is then going North to have the interior completly redone with 2 staterooms, granite counters, hardwood floors, new carpets, couches, entertainment center, etc.
She is fully functional, but not in a "luxurious" state in the interior at the moment. She is in a "functional" state at the moment.
Wanderer is fully equiped with safety gear, life raft, tender, all electronics, etc.
We will be laying over in port for any severe weather.

Crew will be required to help the Captain/mechanics with finishing off the work presently being done (handing tools, simple jobs). We generally work 5-6 hours on the boat daily. We will also have to do a shake down cruise to test out the new systems being installed.

Crew will be expected to help with watches, helm, galley and maintenance while underway to Vancouver. Again, easy stuff, no slave driving. You will have plenty of free time to sightsee, whale watch, read, fish, etc. If you scuba dive, bring your gear as we will have opportunity to dive along the way (I am a PADI Divemaster).

About me

I am married, father of 2 boys. Licensed Captain, 100,000 nautical miles of ocean voyage on sail & power vessels. Former Officer on several Tall Ships in Canada, USA, & international. Very easy going, lots of fun.

Once in Vancouver BC, you are welcome to stay aboard if you wish to extend your trip/vacation.

No renumeration. You are expected to find your own way to Los Angeles, and your own way home from Vancouver (or Seatle). You may come partway on the trip also (Los Angeles to San Francisco for example). Food and a dry bunk will be supplied by Wanderer.

Please email me with any questions, and some details about yourself.
