Very well equipped 51 foot sailboat leaving Florida January 15th for extended cruising in the Carribean. Plan to spend a month in the Bahamas, a month in the Virgin Islands and two months in the Windward and Leeward Islands.

I am looking for one or two people to join me and assist in running the boat. Blue water experience preferred but not required. Would require a minimum of one month committment but would prefer persons who are available for the full four months. I will pay all boat expenses and provision the boat. You must arrange and pay for your transportation to and from the boat and your expenses on land.

I am an early retired physician. Started the trip with my son but he was called away. Non smokers who are interested in relaxed island cruising would be best. Also ability to cook, do boat chores, fix engines or electrical equipment would all be pluses. Previous ownership of a sailboat would also be helpful. Boat is currently in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Dear Basailorman,

My husband and I interested in sailing with you. We are retired; I was a teacher and he was a chemist and marketed chemicals. We own our own boat, a Norseman 447, but it's laid up for the next six months. We are available to be crew for a one to four month voyage. We have experience with working on a Perkins 4-154 engine, and we have experience with replacing the fridge, freezer, generator, and heads on our boat, as well as doing some electical replacements and rigging work. I have a ham licence and have used the SSB to get weather reports. We have sailed our boat from Cape Hatteras to Florida and then home to Galveston, mostly with professional crew. We enjoy cooking, and we don't smoke. We are avid birders. We have a web site at www.svblackpearl.com, if you'd like to see more about us or our boat. The web site also contains our contact information. We look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Basailorman,

We are two early-thirties lawyers from Canada currently on a one-year sabbatical before starting grad school next year. We are both divers and sailors (we owned a sailboat in Toronto) and love to cook. If interested, please get in touch with us and we can provide more information about ourselves.

Thanks,

Anik and Alain

Beasaiolrman,

I am very interested in talking with you about crewing on your upcoming trip in the Caribbean. I have an Irwin 31 near Stuart, Fl which I was planning on fixing up and sailing through the Bahamas to the BVI this year. Because of family obligations I find I will not have the time to both prepare the boat and sail her this year. Being so I am looking for ways to get some time on the water and to be in the Caribbean. I would be happy to commit to at least a month aboard and I have the means to pay my expenses.

A little about myself: My name is Paul Bryant. 42 years old, single, nonsmoker.

I have been sailing since I was a child, but gained most of my sea time on a Circumnavigation aboard a 37' Hans Christian and then a custom 57' Hinckley.

Since that trip, about 10 years ago, I have sailed periodically during the summer near my home in Rockport, MA.

I put myself through school working in boat yards and doing bright work. I have experience in carpentry, fiberglass repair, rigging, diesel mechanics, electrical wiring and most systems aboard a cruising boat.

I am an avid diver and have my rescue diver's certificate. I also have taken a number of first aid courses including a 10 day Wilderness First Responder Course.

I am a good cook and believe in eating well and healthily.

My girlfriend, who is a FANTASTIC cook, will be working as a freelance steward based in the BVI this winter. She may also be available to crew.

I would be very interested in learning more about your boat and your intended cruise.

You can contact me at paulbryant100@hotmail.com

Good day Basailorman,
I'm August, from Austria, 58, Electr. Engineer, self employed, practical, with common sense, in good shape & good health . I speak fluently Spanish. (We lived with our 3 kids over 12 years in Puerto Rico)

My experience is:

US Sailing Certification in "Basic Cruising" done in St. Croix, US VI on a 50' Gulfstar, 12days on the Mediterranean sea on a 41' Beneteau - incl. solo nightwatch (Nizza-Korsika) and day sailings on a 30' Beneteau in Puerto Rico.

I'm a Non smoker & pay for all of my expenses / provisions . I do enjoy a glass of wine with dinner – if sea conditions permit. I as well enjoy to cook dinner – in quiet waters. If available, I prefer fresh ingredients, ideally organically grown. Participating in all boat chores is a natural for me.

I would very much like to join you on your voyage for the third month, ( as of March 25th) more or less when you are about to leave from the Virgin Islands downwards.

If you are interested, please let me know - my email is august.madlener@aon.at or as I'm in Puerto Rico next week (Dec. 12th – 18th) you could call me on my Cell phone 1-787-918-6960 to discuss this in more detail.

I'm as well in Puerto Rico again by about Mid February for approx . 2 weeks.

If you are set up for this voyage already, I still would be interested in a future opportunity.

Best regards
August

Skilled, hard-working, honest, intelligent, mature 33-year-old male looking to crew

Available: January 1st – April 1st

Located presently: Rhinebeck, NY

Desired cruising: I have the finances to meet up in FL

My name is Taylor Pedersen. I'm 33 years old and am currently a chef (French Culinary institute, NYC) and estate manager in Rhinebeck, NY on the Hudson River. I have a 3-month break coming up for the winter when the family will be away. I would love to work gaining experience sailing – making an ocean passage. I look forward to owning my own boat one day and am willing to work for the opportunity to learn. I have always succeeded in what I put my efforts into. I'm a disciplined individual and a good student. I take seriously the skills in which I invest into myself.

I've grown up all over the world as an army brat. – Japan, Korea, Germany, Oklahoma, New York, and California. My father was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, a West Point Grad who believed that a man is the culmination of his skills.

He sailed so I grew up holding his lines, cleaning his hulls, and sailing on bays, lakes, - out towards the Farralons off the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. I am a novice – but I was always quick on the deck and am great under pressure.

I have complete rescue diver training, and my master cert., PADI and NAUI. I got my EMT cert. in CA in 2004, and worked on an ambulance crew for 2 years - my emergency medical skills are useful in high-pressure situations. I have a clear head and clear action under stress - the person sought after in such situations. I'm strong and reliable, and honest.

I'm easy to live with, very clean and organized. I don't smoke, and am very health conscious. Being a chef, I love pairing a nice wine with whatever I've created.

I travel light. I don't collect much – just experience.

I've done a lot of things in my short life. I have varied interests and have been successful immersing myself in each one of them. I see that my collective experience leads me to owning my own boat one day – and running a charter with fine food, wine, diving, and cruising. I think it would be a beautiful life.

If you think you could use a hand on board your vessel for the time that I'm free please feel free to call me or email me.

I can be reached at: 845-876-5917

My email is: taylor@leibovitzstudio.com

Skills:
Certified EMT
Lifeguard
Master SCUBA diver
French Culinary Institute, NYC

Hello. My name is Maikel Carder, I'm 65, trim, fit and in excellent health and ready to cruise. I just got through helping sail a 46 catamaran from the Canary Islands to St Martin, my first ocean crossing. I have been sailing my own boat, a 26' skipjack, alone and with crew in the pacific northwest, including a solo cruise on the west coast of Vancouver Island, for 15 years. I am an excellent cook (top of the stove dishes, curries, bread etc). I do all my own engine and electrical work, including rebuilding and installing a used diesel, shaft, controls, engine beds, and a new electrical system. I can tie knots, trim sails and steer a compass course in the dark. I bring english and french wit, good stories and a good attitude....so I am told. I'm honest, mature and willing. Photos and references upon request. Sincerely, Maikel
