Vessel: Paceship Eastwind "William Bligh" 25' LOA
Embarking Point: The Maine Yact Center, 100 Kensington Rd, Portland, Maine.
I can't cover any of your costs either to or from the boat, sorry. This will have to be for fun or adventure for whatever that's worth.
I would like someone to act as an assistant helmsman and lookout while I'm asleep while we sail south to Virginia. 22 Jan 2008
Duties are basically to share whatever basic things we have to do to behave as civilized human beings do, but to try to have a good time.
Victuating, which I assume means food.. we'll visit the grocery store before we leave Maine and try and split costs. Try being the idea.
Please bring your own safety and foul weather gear which may include your life jacket, harness, tether, foul weather gear, boots, etc.
It's likely going to be rough, uncomfortable, damn cold, and so a good sense of humour is a must. Male or female, it doesn't matter, but you should know what you're getting yourself into and have enough resources to fly home from Norfolk, Virginia.

I'm Robin Scott Johnson, M31, and you can e-mail me at robinsvoyage@yahoo.co.uk
Goto Paceship.org for more details as they are doing PR for me.

Why go in Jan? Is this safe?

Repeat after me:

Protect me oh Lord for my boat is so small
Protect me oh Lord for my boat is so small
My boat is so small and your sea is so wide
Protect me oh Lord

Depends on your definition of the word "safe." Is crossing a street safe?

Note: The William Bligh is now equipped with an EPIRB.
We launch tomorrow 23 Jan 08 from Portland, Maine with no fanfare.
Next week we will grab a lifeboat when my federal return comes in.
Not sure of how we're getting to Bermuda, but that's the goal.

Robin
