efficient power vs efficient sail

How many of you have made the switch from 6 knot + average sail to 6 knot + average power??? . Seem's like you can buy a lot of diesel for the cost of a fast rig and sails and a lot of sailing boats motor more than they admit.

I'm currently building a long, light, low powered powercat, but come from a 25 year sailing/ boat building background

I have posted this on other forums and it made for interseting discussion.

All comments welcome
