The quickest way is a Fastrack course... there are plenty of ASA courses that get you up to Yachtmaster Coastal or Offshore up and down both sides of the US for a decent price... you can even find...

Thanks for the honest answer. I admit I do want to get my certs but also agree that more practical experience is needed and hope to find a good crew position after the fastrack course.
