Hi Everyone... just an intro...

We are a family of 4 (and a scurvy sea dog), who are in the process of getting ready for heading off shore in 2010 on our 36" Cape George Cutter "Tallowah". It may see like far away, but between selling our house and prepping ourselves and the boat (still don't have a stove) we have a fair bit of work to do! Our kids will be 6 and 10 when we leave and that seems to be about right (got to catch them before they are teens and object to our idea)! As of now, we are working hard and getting out on the boat as much as we can (the Gulf Islands are beeeautiful cruising grounds)! This forum has been fun to look through...even though I should be doing other things right now!

Claire

Welcome. You bring back my memories of when we were preparing our boat in Campbell River. We sailed up north to Port Hardy to do all the electrical work and to test our new furling system. Then we sailed south to Vancouver, went into the Fraser River to STeveston to say our goodbyes to family. Good luck and have fun.
