Default Buying a boat in BVI

Hi All,

Want to buy a boat from a charterservice in the BVI, would like to know some experiences from buyers of a charterboat. Some of my acquitances say it are boats which are roughly used and others said it is a cheap way to buy a relatively new boat which has been taken good care off. Anyone who has experience with bying such a boat, please give advice?

Thanks,

Jan

Search the old topics: These have some discussion of buying out of a charter fleet.

Why don't you ask them for references or a list of the boats they've sold in the last couple years?

First have an idea of what kind of boat you want and connect with a surveyor and start looking.
On charter boats check the keels, rudders and engine.
Some people say the charter boats are treated rough but boats are pretty tough and fixable, and like all boats you have to keep up the maintenance.
You can get a good deal on ex charter boats.
