Thumbs up

As I continue to plan my trip out the St. Lawrence Seaway and then down the East Coast of Canada and the US starting on August 1 from Milwaukee WI several "old hands" have suggested that I am "pushing the envelope" and would be better served (in other words, more comfortable and more relaxed) if I "turned right" at the Erie Canal system and headed down the Hudson River. My expectation is that I could reach Halifax by September 1st, but only if I treat the St. Lawrence Seaway as a transit - moving whenever possible. As I respect the views of those with experience I am questioning the wisdom of my plan.

Thoughts, and relevant experiences would be most appreciated.
