We're thinking of planning a trip to Abaco this winter in our Hunter 405 from North Carolina. Would be first true offshore trip. Will have one experienced offshore sailor as crew but would like to see a story or two of people who have made similar trips. I've searched this forum and Googled it, but haven't been very sucessful. Anybody have a link?

I am to planning the same trip. The only answer that I hvae found is it depends on what your lifestyle is.

A couple other forums to look at if you have not found them already -

http://www.abacoforum.com/

Your crssing point will depend on how long it takes to get over. Ft Lauderdale to West End would be best and it is best to cross from 1 Nov to 20 Nov for a good window. I crossed to Bimini last year and had no problems.
