Hi everyone, we have recently joined Cruiser Log and would like to introduce ourselves. We are Dick and Irene Craig and we purchased our Lagoon 440 new in 2006.

In 2007 we sailed from Plymouth, England to Marmaris, Turkey and this year we sailed with the EMYR to Egypt.

We are currently at Ithica in the Ionian Sea and will leave Tucanon at Preveza, in a couple of weeks, for the winter.

From May 2009 we plan to sail to Venice and then work slowly down Croatia, before sailing west to arrive in the Canaries in September/October to cross the Atlantic.

We will either spend a couple of years in the Caribbean or continue our circumnavigation.

We are seeking two crew to join us at various stages of our passage making.

The crew will share costs and be responsible for their flights home and will have some offshore experience, with preferrably some medical qualifications, e.g. doctor, nurse.

Tucanon is a non-smoking, non-drug boat and only very limited alcohol is available on passage.

Our website is as follows:

Below should be a photo of Tucanon sailing with our Parasailor.

Welcome to Cruiser Log multihull board. How beautiful Tucanon looks!

With respect to finding compatible crew, I think that you should also post your request for crew on the CL crewfinder board where you will get more exposure to crew looking for a boat.

Fair winds,

Jeanne

Welcome aboard Dick and Irene - great to have you with us here. Please keep us updated with your progress.

I suggest you post a message in our crewfinder board to find the crew you need - they will possibly not read your post here on this board.

What a fantastic photo of Tucanon! A great looking boat!

Geez, no smokes, no dope and no booze = no sail for me... . Just kidding, Fantastic boat, this was one of my final 3 boats and I am sure you are more than happy with it. We had to compromise, cash for a smaller boat or debt for the larger one. The 440 is really well laid out, has just about everything you need, tons of storage (well the one I Demo-d) and just plenty of space. Congrats on your aquisition, hope you have equal success finding crew.

Hello , My name is Tom Farley & My Ladies name Is Diana. We are located in Stockbridge MA. We just completed two levels of ASA Boating Levels in the Grenadines. Basic Keelboat & Basic Coastal Cruising. Along the way we hit the Christmas Winds and experienced 25- 50 mph gusts with 12 ft. Seas. So we have a little experience with rough conditions and liked it.. We have also completed all levels of OFFSHORE SAILING SCHOOLS COURSES in the Bahamas and the BVI.

We are both professionals who can take as much as a month off in the winter [maybe more depending on the cruise] [ I am a landscaper so I have 4 months off ]. During the Summer we are available most any weekend for local sailing.

We have bareboat chartered in the BVI for 4 weeks with no problems .

We both like hands on Chart Navigation and Weather Forecasting.

In about 2 years we plan on buying a Catamaran

We are also both Scuba certified , Diving in The Bay Islands the last 4 years.

I haven't seen a sail like this. Is that for reducing sail? At first glance I thought it was blown out!
