Default All Is Lost - latest sailing film

Did anybody like the Robert Redford movie "All Is Lost"? We highly recommend you rent it. Invite your sailing buddies over. There's little dialog, so you can talk and jeer loudly throughout! And throw popcorn. We all hated it but were GLUED.

My wife saw the film on the way back from Borneo and said it was a hoot. She then proceeded to tell me in great detail everything he did wrong or was incorrect. For someone who has always professed to not being a natural sailor - I found myself feeling pretty proud of her nautical prowess and I think I may have even shed a little tear at how far she's come!

Perhaps after all the years she really had been listening to me < ducks

Great film! My friends and I, some ex-coast guard, tore Robert Redford's mistakes to shreds. Of course it is easy to be critical whilst well rested in a dry theater without a four inch cut on ones forehead.

I thought it was a good film. Making mistakes is what we all do and for me, that made the character intensely human and the film all the better. Thank goodness I saw the film with a non sailing mate. Having a crowd of 'experts' nattering away about theory would give me the fair dinkum s***ts.

If one invests oneself with the spirit of Norby and Dag (I lo-ved that spooty sh-hoh), all mistakes add to the enjoyment of any spectacle.

I just watched the film in FEB and loved it - I was surprised at many things that seemed like mistakes to me, but most importantly it didn't seem like he paniced much - except for perhaps at the end -altho perhaps the opposite of panic is what he turned to.

I too saw the film together with my wife. I liked but it most of all I liked that she told me "you would not have done such a stupid thing"
