Hello.

We put Faith on the hard in Virginia last June (08), after completing our family's circumnavigation. After 38 countries, 35,000 miles, and four and a half years, we are trying to acclimate ourselves to life back in Michigan. I have a completed manuscript about our voyage, and have recently started a blog to look at the world from a perspective I didn't have before our journey. The blog and website are at www.sailingfaith.com

I'd like to say it's good to be home, but that might be stretching it a bit.

Welcome aboard Gregg. Great to have you here in this friendly, very international cruising community.

We hope to see a lot of you here as you will have much to contribute. Enjoy your "retirement" (join the club) from a wonderful life of cruising.

Make yourself at home - the drinks are on "JeanneP" this whole week.

We have friends that just returned from their circumnavigation last December. They say that they should have continued back around. Returning to this economy is not a welcoming transition back into working society.

I'd like to say it's good to be home, but that might be stretching it a bit.

Gregg...what are you doing now?

Welcome, and congratulations. *As Lighthouse said, drinks are on me this week.

Peter and I cruised outside the US for almost 20 years, though never completing a circumnavigation; returning to the US after such a long absence put us into shock for several years. *

I'm convinced that cruisers are the ultimate optimists, and though the economy in the US right now offers more gloom than optimism, I hope that you do not have regrets about your choice. *We've had economic downturns before, and sooner or later things sort themselves out and life gets easier. *In the meantime, after what one experiences in the cruising life, I'm sure you'll weather this glitch, and you've got such incredible memories to get you over the most depressing times.

In the meantime, we hope you will visit this gathering of like-minded sailors and share your experiences, and your experience, with us.
