Default Le Mangue Bleue - Indian Ocean

I was informed today that the catamaran, Le Mangue Bleue, has been lost somewhere between Mayotte and Madagascar. 4 POB with two rescued in the liferaft. Apparently the other two were not able to make it into the liferaft and stayed aboard the partial hull, which had remained afloat. Reports received was that the cat had apparently split in two after some rough weather.

An update from the SAMMN:

Just to let you know that the 2 persons on the missing cat (Le Mangue Bleu) were found drifting a few nm off Madagascar to the west of Nosy B. by a local fishing boat yesterday.

They (2 males) are in good health, a bit sun tanned and have lost a bit of weight after drifting for 10 days.

They are French nationals living Mayotte.

The 2 persons who took to the life raft and were found earlier are a married couple.

Good to hear that all the crew are safe.

Glad there was a happy outcome.

Any idea of the make of catamaran ? Splitting is pretty catastrophic.

I have no idea about the design, but an Internet search shows that it appears to be one of those wood / epoxy boats, that was built on or near a beach on the island of Mayotte.
