Default looking to join a crew to sail from Europe to South America

Hey!
I am a twenty seven year old guy cycling long distance. I am currently in Portugal and after being told the possibility that one might be able to join a crew to sail across the Atlantic, I thought I'd look into it more seriously.
Im hoping to set sail from Portugal or Spain - to anywhere in South America (Argentina would be my first choice, but anywhere would be amazing) to continue on wards with my cycling.
I have no previous sailing experience but am a hard worker, easy learner and very egar to learn about the sea (from an actual boat, instead of from still land). I can also cook if that counts for anything.
If anyone wants any more information, do not hesitate in contacting me.
Thank you.
Km

You can most probably forget about 'working' - it's close to non-existent and also you need adequate papers, it's not as simple as working on a building site -at least to my knowledge.

Hints: Extreme patience, spend time with the sailors, show an interest, expect to pay for your expenses. And when it comes down to it - be at the right place at the right time.

There are places in Portugal where you can possibly find a boat. But out of respect to them people so it doesn't get filled up with random travelers - I'm not going to share it.

Other than that, as said patience, patience and more patience, oh and a smile helps.

Good Luck.

It appears you are unwilling to to offer the sort of help, that you also are seeking from others. It seems a strange way to intruduce yourself.

The standard practice for travellers who wish to crew on a voyaging boat, is to work for their passage. As there is no financial reward, no working papers are required. You pay your share of expenses, do your share of work and get to where you are going.

I'm not looking for any help. If you notice, this thread is over a year old - merely answering a question..
Judge as you wish - but I'm not going to give out the exact locations I found through hard work, patience and time - so that it fills up with random people who are in Portugal and have read this thread. I wouldn't like it if I was on the other side.
