Ahoy everyone!
I've been sailing my whole life, could swim before I could walk. Got a 100T license when I was 18, worked my way through college doing deliveries between New England, Florida and the Caribbean. Had done tons of trips before that, lots of racing too. Grew up on multihulls, dad had several big trimarans and catamarans, racers, record breakers, was at least 13 or 14 before I ever even went on a monohull bigger than a laser or sunfish. Did lots of Bermuda races and TransPac races, been transAtlantic and transPacific, all up and down the east and west coasts of all of North America, plus some South America, blah blah blah, lots and lots, stopped counting at 100 thousand miles offshore.
Worked as a charter and private yacht captain for over twenty years, but for the last six years I have swallowed the anchor and been "on the beach" here in Mexico in real estate. I am totally sick of the landlubber existence and need to go back to sea for good. Bought a Bristol 34 for knocking about down here, but for me it's too small to liveaboard.
My favorite boat is a catamaran, but for the serious circumnavigation I am looking for a big old schooner with huge payload so I can take everything but the kitchen sink with me. I'd like to trade in the Bristol for something a lot bigger.
Anyway, I have lots of experience, not going to really be posting a lot but I can answer all your questions, I've done almost every possible marine related job in existence at one time or another.
And if anyone knows of any big old schooners for sale, over 65 feet, let me know!
Cheers everyone!
