This is the sort of thing that makes it difficult for cruisers arriving in countries after these types of fools.

BRISBANE, Australia — A tip-off from U.S. authorities led to the seizure of more than 1,000 pounds of cocaine transported to Australia from South America, police said Thursday.....

....The catamaran was intercepted at sea by an Australian Customs and Border Protection boat on Wednesday and is being towed to Brisbane.

This interests me. What I have seen from my less-than-scientific study is that random searches seldom find these kinds of smuggling operations. They are almost always discovered because someone talked. Usually a medium-level person in the organization trying to save his own skin.

I am not sure why random searches are even done except maybe to distract from that fact.
