Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Indian Ocean

Does anyone have upto date information on the Indian government's attitude to cruising yachts in these islands - I know they used to be very difficult but have heard a rumour that they are now more positive, at least about the Andermans.

I know there is a rally Phuket - Andamans - Phuket this coming January but as we are planning on going on to Sri Lanka after the Andamans, the rally is not suitable for us.

Even though you don't want to return to Phuket, couldn't you join the rally to the Andamans? We used to do that frequently, just join the leg of a rally we were interested in.
