Default Atlantic crossing

We have a 26m steel hull custom made explorer type of boat , she has a range of 4000nm and is very well equipped this just that you understand that the boat has no problem doing an Atlantic crossing , we ( the crew and owners ) might have , 5 guys who all have a certain degree of experience in captaining boats on the north atlantic and the mediteranian have never done a crossing.
We want to start the crossing mid end nov 2015 from Palma de Mallorca via Gibraltar to the Canarie Islands and then cross over to the Caribian islands .
Now starts the question (s) : can anyone with experience tell us which is the best Island to go to first , reckoning we will have to fill about 28000 l of diesel ,where is it safe and where is it cheap ?

You're probably asking this in the wrong place. Talk to commercial fishermen and find out where they fuel up.

Good idea , thanks .
There is more ! Any tips on custom clearance ? What are the best places to anker ? etc... , I know we can get a lot of info from books but I rather get it from people who did it last year .

I'll refer you to our wiki on that question:

http://www.cruiserswiki.org/wiki/Canaries

On the same site you can also look up each possible Caribbean destination for more information. Have a great trip!
