I had several friends and acquaintances do the race, and in fact, all of the Cal's took top honors. From what I understand it was a great race, two of the Cal's went well south to use the low pressure system winds, and the other north, where they found lighter winds, but still managed to take 5th overall.
Had opportunity to go on one of the baots, and wish I had been there, but was not able to go this year due to business travel obligations. In two years, if we are still around and not having shoved off on our cruise, I will do the race with a friend on his Cal 39 (like mine). We did it two years ago....
Always a great experience when there is wind.....
