We (my wife and I ) have decided to take the plung. We are planning to buy a boat and are looking for any advice about casting off. I guess are many ? is what does it really cost to just sail away?

As the pundits say, it will cost as much money as you have to spend on it, and then some.

Search the forum's archives and you'll see a lot has already been written about it. Without knowing more about you, and your plans, and your level of experience, that is the best way for you to get a start on the information you are looking for.

Fair winds, and welcome to the enlightened madness that is cruising.

Welcome,

If you go to our forum : Living aboard >> The Ships's Library >> "Easy Reading", To while away that leisure time", and check post #7, there is a brief review of Jimmy Cornell's

"Passion for the Sea"

A good investment - it covers all the points that need research in the early days of changing your life.

Good Luck

Richard
