Hello Crew,
My name is Capt.Smith Carl, from United Kingdom. I work with Amble Boat Company,The Boatyard Croquet Street,Amble,NE65 0DJ Northumberland in United Kingdom. I came across your profile on and decided to mail to ask if you'll be interested in the job.Its a private own yacht, and the destination is always from Northumberland to France,Ireland and Norway. and the accommodation will be provided by the company.i will like you to contact me directly on my personalemail(smith_carl16@yahoo.com)Hope to hear from you soonest
Amble Boat Company whose website is a good one have never heard of this man, and say they have been targeted lately by these email frauds, with the end product of getting your credit card number, so be vigilant about offers, never give personal details away especially bank or credit card details. gra.
Best Regards

There was an artical about this in Triton earlier this month. They are also targeting professional crew, getting their CV's and contact info from some of the crew boards.
They said that the scams can sometimes be spotted by the poor grammer and spelling in the e-mails. In interviews with Captains of some super yachts they said that a boat owner would never ask crew to send money in advance to get a job. You were smart to check with the company they said they worked for.
With the economy as bad as it is many charter yachts are letting crew go leaving some people desperate enough to fall for these scams.

Yes, I've been getting dozens of these lately. Virtually all of them claiming to come from UK companies and many offering high (too high) rates of pay. Some even offer to pay monthly every 3 weeks - I haven't worked that one out yet.
I have heard that if you reply, you are asked to pay $1000 or £1000 to secure the job.......... Enough said!

I've just been invited to deliver his boat in and out of a yard on the East Coast, funny thing is, the yard owner is a friend of mine!

Were you approached via THIS forum, or some other source?
If via HERE, what was his username?
