Default Helpful last minute tips..?

Hello there, as some might be aware myt wife and I are picking up our yacht, Tiare, in Hawaii in 6 days for an 18 month 'journey home' back to the UK via the South Pacific and Indian Oceans, the Red and Med seas.

While we have substantial experience in sailing some pretty dicey places we are new to sailing in the tropics and live-aboard life for any serious amount of time.

So, for those with experience, can you give us some tips and tricks for a happy blue water life?

Thanks

Ben

6 days 19 hours to go

Hi Ben, First, have you downloaded JeanneP's e-book http://www.cruisingconnections.co.za/ebooks.htm . Second, Buy 'Tropical Cruising Handbook' by Mark Smaalders and Kim des Rochers. It is published by International Marine/McGraw Hill

ISBN 0-07-137228-8. It is a great read and in my opinion a valuable tropical cruising resource.

Best of luck. David.

Fair winds, it's a wonderful trip!

Aloha Ben,

My boat is currently in Ko Olina on Oahu. I'll be heading out on June 10. Maybe our paths will meet. Good sailing to you.
