Med becoming more like the Caribean?

This leading kiwi web news site has a story today discussing high sea temperatures in the Med, the effects this will have on the climate, and the possibility of hurricanes developing. Well worth reading.

Now a tornado has hit Birmingham (not Birmingham, Alabama but Birmingham, England!

Where do you all now stand on climate change?

Dramatic! It is one of the reasons I was intially attracted to sailing before the bug really bit. To be able to travel using the forces of nature rather than internal combustion but I don't think I'd ever be able to pull the engine out - fear of being caught on that lee shore!!

The use of solar panels and wind turbines again making us that bit more sustainable has also been an attraction and I guess there is a bit of the greenie in most cruisers.

I never thought however that I'd see dramatic climate change in my lifetime, thinking rather that it was the poisoned chalice for other generations to drink from!

Makes you think.
