G'day to all. Hope & wish everyone is doing JUST fine.

Whilst I personally am not in danger but that may change rather quickly. Sure hope NOT.

Mike Rogers & others - - Please read the Australian BOM (Australian government weather web site) - - that is a 110 out of 10, big-time great informative, acurate site.

Whilst I'm very sorry for all you 'freezen-yanks & Canucks', & that's why I moved to the tropics in FNQ - - We now have two (2) cyclones approaching the coast of Queensland. We just don't need any more water - - even for deep-draft (+8') yachts in our paddocks & front yards, Thank you all very much. Got 9 mtrs above roadway to town that is 1 1/2 ks wide & @ 30 kph. We are O.K. @ this time however to quote 'Jeanne P' (spell-check says you are s 'supa-star & I agree) MV Watermelon - I've studied these small glitches a tad bit now, & the summary is - - Enough is enough - for now at least!! Sorry y'all is freezen. Ciao for now, james

BUGGER it is wet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi James, Seems a lot of cyclones this year already, 4 this week. As I'm writing the tail end of one's going past (rain depression) and causing havoc in Northland. A few last week also. I've never seen so many. Used to love them when surfing on the east coast of Aus but a different story now with a yacht in the hbr. I hope yours turns tail, at least I see now it is getting weaker.

Maybe fish farming will be a big thing up your way ha ha.

G'day Peter, SV-S Mahdee & y'all. Sun's been shinning for 3 days in a row now. Have an infection in right eye so sunshine hurts like all heck, can't open it at all. However I'll keep wishing for more sunshine even though we have 2 active cyclones far to close for my liking. Agree whole-heartedly Peter, not very calming when there's a yacht in the harbour, at all. Somehow I thought you were in the Southland. I've a good mate, yacht designer, artist who lives in Kerikeri, David & Tatiana Barker designer of 'Sundancer' & 'Sundreamer'. If it weren't so cold I'd visit but would rather the weather in Phuket. Brenda - I've really had enough, but it won't do any good as Peter said, 4 cyclones this week, with 1 going by him in the land of the 'long-white-cloud' and there's still 3 months to go until the end of the cyclone season. We've been flooded in, on our farm, since mid Nov & don't expect it to change any time soon. I might take up Peter's suggestion & go into 'fish farming' though even they may drowned - that's how wet it is. I don't recall getting this wet in 10 Hobart races all put together.Thank goodness I've made up my mind to go back sailing & as soon as I can find the right fast, safe, comfortable catamaran that I can afford I'll be ocean born again. Song goes 'the worlds gone crazy Katillion' & I'm sure the weather has become a tad distressing for many peoples around the globe. Physically & mentally we are just fine but it would be nice to get my Lady back home. Got her out of here - just in case - 3 weeks ago & home maybe in 2 weeks. Good sailing, fair winds & sunny skies to everyone & do stay safe, healthy & well. Ciao, james (c/w web-feet & gills) .

Hope Mike reads all these posts & looks at the 'severe weather warning area' that stretches from north of Cooktown to well south of Qld/NSW border - North East coast of Australia - (that's some 2000 plus K's with waves 2 to 3 mtr high inside the Great Barrier Reef & 4 to 5 mtrs outside the Reef with winds to 45 kts. Not the time to go 'cruising' or delivering a yacht intentionally sailing INTO conditions like that. Time to cook bacon, eggs, hash-browns, & pancakes with Canadian Maple syrup & lie back & read a good book about hiking in the mountains or desert. jj Times like these I remember my motto; every reality begins with a dream. for sure for sure!
