Solar Powered Instruments.

Solar powered, wireless electronic systems - wind, speed, heading, gps, etc. Does anyone have first-hand experience with this system yet that they could share with us?

Hi,

Have used TicTac log and depth on a small race boat and can confirm it works just fine.

It does appear their UK presence has increased of late - much bigger stands at two main UK Boat Shows etc - and some new add ons which seem to be gaining in popularity.

Suspect radar will always be a no-no due to high power needs - but maybe one day this kit could pick up radar output from a regular radar unit - provided of course, that unit could transmit wireless..........

All in all seems good kit that stands the test of time....and of course......means you don' t need your batteries.
