Default States to Carib

I have recently purchased a donzi F33 in the states and am planning on cruising it down from florida to the windward Islands. I was wondering if anyone here has done the same sort of thing and what the requirements were for a State registered pleasure craft entering foreign waters with non resident US crew. Does it make any difference if you are European?

Apart from passports, what's else are required documents for the vessel? Is the vessel certificate title sufficient for clearing in and out? Should I change boat registration?

Hope you can give me some info

You'll need a national yacht registration and visas to enter foreign waters.

The French islands do not recognize US State registration.

It is my understanding (as a US citizen) that non-US citizens cannot initially enter US waters other than on a scheduled carrier: air or water. Some nationalities require a full US Visa, while others, primarily European, can utilize a special 90 day program, then travel to and within US waters on a private conveyence is permitted. I strongly suggest that you contact all pertinent authorities prior to travel to ensure smooth sailing! Good luck! George
