Our boat is on the small side, and fortunately we have wide side decks but I have always been told that fuel cans and kayaks on the lifelines are a bad idea during crossings. As I have two real nice sit-on-tops I am wondering if they would be too much of a challenge if tied flat to the side decks when off-shore? I wouldn't use the lifelines to hold them, but would tie them securely to the deck. I have waffled in this decision and currently have them listed for sale but I am soliciting opinions on practicality and use during cruising? What do you folks think?
