I'm looking at a Geoge Duke TransPac 49 (MKII ketch) which is in need of a main sail. None of the drawings I have available have any of the measuements and only give the area. I'm working this deal from a distance and don't have an opportunity to take measurements.

Does anyone have a sail plan drawing with the measurements. Or any link to a George Duke info/site.

Thanks

Steve

Hello Steve,

Here is a link to the owner of Transpac 49 Ketch - he was selling it, but may still have it. He had replaced the sails so he should be able to give you the name of the sail maker etc.

To answer my own question!

I sent and email to the builder, who is still in business but only builds a couple Hi End trawlers. They responded within a couple days with a nice email about their experience building the TransPac 49 and the list of all working sails and some optional cruising and performance sails.

I appreciate the email address to a present owner. So far, the only TransPac 49s I have read about are listed with brokers and no opportunity to "Talk Boats" with another owner.

Thanks so much.

Steve

Hi there, Steve!

When I put two and two together---I realized that this Steve with the Ingrid is the Stephen I know at Fiddlers' with an Ingrid up North! Hope you're enjoying Washington state right now San Diego is hot, hot, hot. Your boat is doing fine, though.

Glad to see you here! Go over to the Tavern and introduce yourself. We're a friendly bunch.
