Wood and pets
I have a question about shipworms (Never seen one, but hate them already).
It took me six years to restore a gaffer. The hull is carvel
build from oak. Now we are planning to departure from the Northsea
to more exotic places within two years.
Till now, shipworms have never been an issue (a very very small risk).
Is there anybody out there who can give me advice about the best protection from shipworms?
Sheeting or a deathcloth (epoxy layer) is no option due to the
risks of uncontrolled rot.
Does a antifouling mix with a lot of copperpowder help?
Any idea, suggestion or opinion is welcome.
