My winter berthing contract here in the Portugese marina expires in a couple of days, and once I leave the shorepower connection I do not have access to the Internet. The KISS principle rules on board and the laptop gets stowed away. Out come the Admiralty paper charts and dividers..
I'm bound East, along the South coast (The Algarve) of Portugal, down to the border with Spain which is marked by the River Guardiana. The river is navigable for 30 + miles inland and is worth exploring. From there it's South-East and through the Gibraltar Strait into the Mediterranean and North along the Spanish coast.
She has a 'grass skirt' and needs anti-fouling after a winter as my floating home, so somewhere along the coast I'll get her hauled out and set to work and evict a few of the beasties that have taken up residence below her waterline. Once she's back in the water it's Eastward again, slowly across the Mediterranean Sea, via the Balearic Islands, Sardinia, Italy and Sicily and on to Greece. There's no hurry, I'm just wandering.
So, in the meantime safe cruising to everyone, keep smiling and when I get a chance I'll dive into an Internet cafe and update my travels.
Regards Saxon.
