I have just had a look at his blog http://www.sailblogs.com/member/deliveries/ - blog entries emailed at sea and automatically posted to his blog.
Now safely across the Atlantic - see the position report on the tracking map on his blog. Eating plenty of fish!

"Downhill Sailing". Though longer it is quicker, warmer, easier and safer. It is a very hard slog going the other way round.

Just seems like it would be more cost effective to load onto a cargo vessel.

No, it is not the owners on board. The owners of this particular boat is Sunsail charters.
It probably is easier to deliver by cargo ship but Robertson and Cain builds hundreds of these boats a year and they have to be sent all over the world, plus they need a good shake down. Logistically it is easier to sail it over and I suspect cheaper!
