Hello,

Just wanted to let everybody know I'm off to Hawaii again, this time in a 1970 Newport 20 called Hard Knots. I will be alone except for the company of my loyal Bombay cat, Lava. Hard Knots is still in "port" in Tempe, Arizona. The voyage to Hawaii is postponed a few days until Sunday 27th. My old solar panels which have lasted 15 years died on m this week. The only silver lining, is that the newer technology is cheaper, more efficent, and more reliable. So instead of two 17.5W panels without diods or a control panel, it'll be one 50W pannel with both of those things. I picked it up at Sunset Solar in Snowflake, AZ for about $300... the five year waranty covers ocean sailing.

This week I'll be leaving, hopefully, however, a large area of disturbed weather is moving rapidly northwest from 550 miles sw of Manzanillo, Mexico.. and this may delay me from leaving Catalina Island until there is an reasonable window.
