Default UK coast then French Canals; fancy it?

Departing Preston 31st March and sailing down the west coast. Mainly day hops and visiting anywhere nice en route.
Nice includes secure harbours with a good pub and places of interest such as Skommer, Lunday and Scillies.
Perhaps a little more time exploring the South coast and planning to cross to Le Havre at end of April. Then Paris and canals to Med taking most of the summer.
Current crew is 2 retired gents plus a third for at least part of the journey. Ex surveyor, miner and teacher.
Yacht is a well fitted Neptunian 33 ketch with fwd and aft cabins 2 heads etc.
Looking for one guy for all or part of this trip or possibly a cople for any part.
Share of food costs required.
Some sailing experience required but not at any high level.
Age doesn't matter as long as you are reasonably fit.

Hi, my name is Phillip, I am South African married to Russian, we are living now in Ukraine, Sevastopol. I am retired electonics engineer in the avionics industry. I have my coastal skipper and marine radio license.
We would like to join you on your trip. Our obstacle is visas. Normally as tourist we would have to apply for visa for Uk and visa for europe.
For me it is just the cost and no problems, but for Ukrainians a bit more difficult.
Is there another way when sailing of obtaining necessary entry papers?

Default Still Looking?

Hello

I am wondering if you are still on the hunt for crew?

I would love to cruise down the french canals this summer!

I am american, and therefore speak English, so if you are British

then Great! i'd love to hop on and give a hand!

Please let me know, otherwise I will likely just bike around europe this

summer...

I have, plenty of sailing and motor experience, including blue water sailing,

Mississippi and Ohio River Steamers, Research Trawlers, and Tall Ships.

Cheers,

Kevin

I want a crew from August. You may get a better offer in June. Keep in touch.

Sounds like just the sort of trip I would be looking to do in 2013. I am currently doing a Day Skipper Course (Theory) and will be seeking more experience in 2013. Love inland waterways, both rivers and canals; have skippered boats extensively on the UK canal system and completed a Rhine cruise as a passenger. Helping take a boat through the French Canals would be ideal for me and I get on with just about anybody. I am a UK citizen, a retired sound engineer, technically minded, practical and very fit and healthy for my age. Language skills: Fluent Spanish; basic French.
