Bad Luck Friday

Here's my question. If I start my southerly coastal voyage say on a Saturday and cruise to my next port and stop for a few days then leave for my next destination say on a Tuesday. If I do this a few times always leaving on a non friday cruising with my origional voyage route, is it bad luck to leave on a Friday from one of my coastal stops considering my origional departure was on a Saturday?

Well, I've never been one for superstitions, but if you are...I'd think you're violating the "don't leave on a friday" one if you leave ANY port on a friday.

Have you ever left for a trip on a Friday or continued a leg of your trip on a Friday?

Sailors may not be the most religious people but we sure the most superstitious. I try not to start a voyage on a Friday but once I start the “VOYAGE” all trips taken during the Voyage can start on any day. I guess it all depends on your comfort zone. I have been on my Caribbean “Voyage” for the last 6 years and have no problem starting a trip on a Friday. If the weather says to get out of town to avoid a hurricane are you going to wait for the calendar.. I sing on deck glad I can’t whistle, I did say we were superstitious not stupid. I do take chances I have a woman on board.

I can think of one very good reason why not to leave on a Friday. You will probably arrive at your next port of entrée on a weekend and pay over time to check in.
