I will be staying on Skyelark of London and watching the race from shore, doing my best to stimulate the world economy, at least as far as breweries and rum distilleries are concerned.

If anyone is racing and needs highly qualified railmeat I can honestly say I have spent my entire life developing my "form", see 1st photo.

If you spot me at one of the parties, I'm the lucky one in the front row, say hello and we can have a cold one together.

Made it back from the regatta last Sunday. We did pretty good finishing 9th in our class, not bad considering some boats had paid crew and we were sailing with mostly amatuer crew coming out for a day or two at a time. I did end up racing after all, how I got elected as the grinder for the genoa is still a mystery to me though, next year I'm showing up with my arm in a sling.

I decided to extend my stay by helping to sail the boat to Grenada. We stopped in Guadalope to pick up a couple French guys that needed a ride and then headed to Grenada where the boat was going out on charter. Wind was off the port quarter all the way, no grinding necessary, my kind of sailing.

Picked up a nice Dorado (mahi-mahi) off St. Kitts, and got what I am told is a rare photo of the volcano on Guadalope. It is usually obscured by clouds. The smoke in the foreground is volcanic smoke leaking from a vent.

If you want to see some good photos of the carnage that took place during the race, especially among the bareboat fleet check out photoaction.com click on Heineken Regatta and select "incidents" from the list. From what I heard 2 boats were holed, there were some demastings and numerous blown out sails. A bareboater ran a 50 footer onto the reef entering Oyster Pond on Monday following the race, the boat was a total loss.
