Since Kelkiewyn is a South African bird (the sand grouse) I'd hazard a guess that it was made in ZA.

Nope. A quick search online reveals that almost all kelkiewyns for sale are in your part of the world. She's locally built for sure.

East London Kelkiewyn 23 - East London

There was also one called Pinotage on gumtree.co.za but the ad expired.

This guy owned one: https://sailon2oceans.wordpress.com/about/

This page has a (broken) link to a story about a Kelkiewyn that had an incident with a whale: http://www.holiday23.co.za/Pictures%202009.htm

These guys own one: http://www.sailsandgales.com/

Etc, etc. All ZA sites btw.

Get hold of Dave Elcock the SAS / SAMSA safety surveyor. He is a treasure trove of the older SA boats. Somewhere in the back of my memory (what little remains) I think the boat was a van der Stad design.

Hi Captainmorgan. I'm also interested in buying a Kelkiewyn. I need to lift her out the water tho as she needs some maintenance. I'm new to sailing & she'll be my first yacht. Please will you forward me the info once you've received it from Dave Elcock. Thanx
