One of the most pleasant aspects of the cruising fraternity is the friends we develop over time. There is nothing I look forward to so much, as when old friends sail back into my life. Following a circuit of the western Pacific including the east coast of Oz, our friends on 'Furai Batsu' have arrived back in Darwin, prior to setting off for Bali, Singapore, Bruneii, Kota Kinabalu, Subic Bay, Taiwan and Okinawa.
The passage of time between meetings merely provides spice for the conversation, which almost seems to continue uninterrupted since the last meeting.
It is easy to become lost in the corporate world as we strive to repeat the process of filling and emptying the financial coffers in an unending series of repetitions to insure against the eventual collapse of the moneymaking engine. But it seems after making the transition to a more sedate and waterborne existence the emotional coffers simply fill and expand as each good experience is followed by another.
"...give me a good ship and a star to steer her by".

David.
