Hi John, welcome and thanks for the nice PM. I can understand anyone who wants to see the 'Boks go down. ( sorry Bob) I don't know much about internet TV, but this link should provide you with a good starting point to see the game. http://www.mediazone.com/channel/rugby/jsp/2006/faq.jsp . For further details of the games, google 'trinations rugby'.

Cheers

Carn the Ozzies..oy..oy..oy!

David.

PS.. John, go to the above link, then on the sidebar click 'trinations', and individual matches are $9.99. This is Rugby Union, not Rugby League (proper rugby)...But it is still good old fashioned bashemupfooty!

Thanks David,

Bloody sensational link mate! Really good footy even though primarily Union, and not 'proper' Rugby League. Had some of the guys here in the yard where I'm doing a refit on Pomaika'i come over and start knocking on the hull wanting to know what all the yelling was about (I was down below watching The Rugby Channel's "Plays and Tries of the Week" and got carried away. And I hadn't even gotten into the XXXX stash).

... now if I can just find an Eels or Lions match.

John

Last night I saw a brilliant game between the Warriors (NZ) and the Tigers. Almost up there with the State of Origin level. The Parramatta Eels..my alltime favourite team....especially back when Sterlo had hair.

South Africa = 17

Australia = 25

Not bad for the SA "2nd" team.

Something to think about?

That's a cop out Bob. It was your national team. Your selectors need to be spoken with.

Good win OZ.

It certainly was a good win for Oz. Congratulations!

The "2nd" team refers to all the press hype in Australia and New Zealand about SA not sending a full strength team on the tour (for various reasons). The hype is such that they are calling for SA to be expelled from the Tri-Nations AND the Super 14 competitions. This team (labelled "under strength) I felt never disgraced themselves or SA in today's test - test-match rugby it was, at it's best. The match certainly did not downgrade the credibility of test-match rugby.

In fact, today's test was hard-fought by both sides and could have gone either way. Australia the eventual deserving victors. Well done!

The team on this tour augers well for the depth of SA rugby leading up to the World Cup.

Agreed Bob. Once again, I think the media have a lot to answer for. Sometimes I feel a little ashamed to be a part of it in OZ. I think in areas that count...ie the players and the supporters, the great spirit of the game was well observed. Its the sports' politicians who need the rocket.

Cheers.

David.

Please excuse this Sepo’s naiveté on the subject, but are they playing Aussie rules?

Exclamation

How does that differ from the Aussie rules? Sorry, I'm sure this isn't a simple answer.

"Aussie Rules" has no rules and is ONLY played in Australia - by men in tight silky shorts and skimpy vests. Sort of a mixture of hand-ball, running and kicking. There is also some guy behind the posts in a white coat and white hat who keeps showing the players how big the fish was that he caught - over and over (and it isn't very big either - only about a half meter).

ONLY JOKING!

I'm in trouble now - I'm outa here!

Cheeeese!

Sorry 'Auzzee'

ONLY JOKING!

Aussie Rules is a great game (if a little different) and has a HUGE following in Oz.

Oy! Are you having a go at 'kick and giggle'?

And what was it I heard about boxing?

The ultimate poof sport....2 blokes in silk shorts and gloves, wearing no shirts, arguing over who gets to take home the belt and the purse.

David,

I think maybe you're thinking about 'American Championship Wrestling'; certainly one of the stupidest, and hokeyest 'sports' around. Anyone who enjoys soap operas will surely enjoy wrestling. Real boxing on the other hand can be quite a sport... toe-to-toe and slug it out!

Lighthouse, even if you were having a go at real footy, I love the definition... 'League has no rules.' Must be why it's a real man's game, sometimes described as "A gentleman's game for animals, or an animal's game for gentlemen."

Sure makes NFL football look like a game for pansies.

All the Best,

John

Hi John,

I think the greatest benefits from WWF wrestling, monster truck racing, and 'reality' shows such as World's next Top Model, are that they give thinking people the motivation to go sailing.

And, why can't Americans get coverage of the America's Cup, but they can all watch a crowd of morons behaving like animals as they try to find the person who can consume the greatest number of hot dogs in 5 minutes?

Is it any wonder that the worst health epidemic in the western world is obesity?

Me?...I just wonder when we next get the chance to flog South Africa at something..

David.

Gad!

Beaten by the Kiwis in the Bledisloe Cup (Rugby Union).....

Beaten by the Jappos in the Asian Cup soccer......

At least our women are doing well in the netball tests and the cricket......And Stu Cadell is fourth overall in the Tour de Frog.....

Think we would have strife knocking off the SA junior boys tiddleywinks team at the moment.

Gloom!!!!
