Here are a couple of pictures which should help in identifying this marina.

However, it would be good if we got some recent pictures of the new pontoons/slips.

Help

Afraid no pictures. A shame, I have fond memories of our time there.

Rebak Island Marina is located at a small island (Rebak Island) SW of Langkawi Island. Lat 06 17.6' N and long 99 41.7'E. The entrance is on the south of the island. You can view the latest picture in website rebakmarina.com . You can contact them at email address marina@rebakmarina.com .

Back in business since October 2006. It is with timber pontoon and steel piles. In Langkawi there are three marinas. Royal Langkawi Yacht Club is on the south of Langakawi Island and Telaga Harbour Marina is on the west of Langkawi Island. Rebak Island Marina is in between this two marinas but nearer to Telaga Harbour Marina.

The marina is well protected, calm and quiet. There is no wave even though in monsson season as the location of the entrance ensure that no wave getting into the marina basin. Beside the well protected basin, RIM is also well known for its swimming pool which is located in the resort side and can be used by marina reisdents. The hardstand area is also in high demand as every storage season (April to October) it is full with boat and only few spaces are left for short term repair and maintenance. It is advisable to make at least six months reservation for hardstand storage.

Rizal,

Thanks very much for the updated information , especially the advice to book early if hard stand space is required. Here are a couple of snapshots of the marina - the one of the pontoons, I hope is recent, although I note that the Website is dated 2007, http://www.rebakmarina.com

Where are you located?

Regards

Richard

A fiend of mine that launced today after a botom job gave the following descripsion of Rebak as for a haul-out place.

Do it Yourself or You never get out!

Sounded like there was a shortage of organisation at the hard.

Marina facilities etc were of high class, and the lift operators did their job in lifting and supporting.

However the promised 4 days went into 10 on the hard.

Water and power available, staff friendly.

Main drawback is the ferry (free) and distance to Kuah if parts etc is needed.

Lift/storage prices about 60-70% of Wavemaster.

For technical repairs Wavemaster might still be the only option.

For 'storage' do not forget 'The Hole in the Wall' on the east coast of Langakawi. Well protected anchorage with local 'security' and minor maintanance work availabl.
