The Thai Government is presently deciding to close all diving activities in the Similan and Surin Islands on the North West Coast of Thailand ( this decision will also mean that cruising sailing yachts will no longer be permitted to stop and anchor, even for an hour.- the reason given is that the Coral is dying because of "bleaching due to high sea water temperatures". Of course the horse has gone - If the diving is stopped it will not change the water temperature !!

This closure will effectively Destroy yet another tourist revenue earner. The poor decisions by the government have systematically resulted in nearly all the extraordinarily beautiful islands and beaches being totally trashed by developer mafia,

the prime example being the PhiPhi Islands - now a stinking polluted eyesore
